The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution of Ku Klux Klan (KKK) propaganda in Leesburg, Virginia.
Earlier this year, CAIR similarly condemned the distribution of flyers promoting the KKK in Loudoun County, Virginia. In 2023, CAIR condemned KKK propaganda distributed in Harrisonburg, Virginia. A similar condemnation was issued in 2021 for the distribution of KKK propaganda in Virginia’s Henrico County Fairfield and Varina districts.
“This kind of hateful propaganda is not only deeply offensive but also intended to sow fear and division within our communities,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “We urge local and state authorities to treat these incidents with the seriousness they deserve and to take appropriate steps to ensure those responsible are held accountable.”
Hooper said Washington, D.C., based CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
