In this election cycle we have seen Muslim women being reduced to ugly and harmful stereotypes, targets of hate speech and crimes, legislated against, misrepresented for their beliefs, and deprived of their constitutional rights.

“Reported anti-Muslim hate crimes have spiked in 2015 and 2016,†said CAIR-Alabama Executive Director Khaula Hadeed. “While so many across the world try to speak for Muslim women, we're speaking for ourselves in Alabama.â€

She added: “We are mobilizing and standing together. We want to push for dialogue among communities. We want to be better informed about issues and candidates that will be on our ballots in November. More importantly, we want to add our voices to making a positive difference.â€
