The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today said Israeli food concentration sites in Gaza are in fact “human slaughterhouses” after Israeli tanks fired into a crowd trying to get aid from trucks, killing at least 59 people.
Reuters said Israeli tanks fired at a crowd of thousands who had gathered on the main road through Khan Younis hoping to obtain food for their starving families. At least 89 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza. Israel has slaughtered more than 55,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and is imposing a campaign of forced starvation on the population of Gaza.
Yesterday, CAIR condemned the Israeli occupation’s slaughter of 34 Palestinians near food concentration points as “sociopathic.”
In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“The U.S.-backed Israeli food concentration sites are in reality human slaughterhouses at which Palestinian women, children and men are murdered with impunity using American weapons and support. Palestinians, Muslims, Arabs, and anyone else with a conscience will long remember these crimes against humanity and the world’s silence and inaction as they occur. Genocide must never be normalized.”
CAIR recently said the daily massacres at Israeli concentration sites in Gaza, the forced displacement of the population to receive scraps of food at those sites and intentional destruction of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure are designed to carry out Israel’s campaign of ethnic cleansing.
