The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on the Biden administration to condemn the far-right Israeli government’s massacre of more than 100 starving Palestinians who were waiting for humanitarian relief when they were killed.
The latest massacre of Palestinian civilians pushed the death toll in Gaza past 30,000. Most of the dead are women and children. UN officials say a quarter of Gaza’s 2.3 million Palestinians face Israeli-imposed starvation.

In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“It is unconscionable that the Biden administration has not condemned the Israeli government for any of the war crimes it has committed over the past four months. Only political leaders who do not believe all lives are equally valuable could ignore today’s massacre and continue to enable this open genocide of Palestinian men, women and children.
“If Ukrainians or any other people were massacred in this manner by another country, our nation would react, and react strongly. But it is increasingly clear our government does not regard Palestinians as human beings worthy of life.
“The Biden administration must stop doubling down on its complicity in the Gaza genocide and offering vague words of mild criticism – that mean nothing to Benjamin Netanyahu – while it speeds more bombs that he will use to massacre more Palestinians.”
Earlier this week, CAIR called on the Biden administration to demand that Israel end its attacks on starving civilians in Gaza seeking humanitarian aid.
CAIR recently condemned both the death of a Palestinian baby from starvation intentionally imposed by Israel’s far-right government and the Israeli torture of a Palestinian doctor in Gaza.
Previously, CAIR said the Biden administration is complicit in the growing starvation in Gaza.
