(BALTIMORE, MD, 8/28/17) — The Maryland Outreach Department of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, announced today that it is co-sponsoring the ‘March on Washington’ anniversary rally to be held this evening in Annapolis.

The peaceful rally will commemorate the 54th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, and will feature notable speakers, including some participants in the original March on Washington, local elected officials, and community leaders and activists. A CAIR representative will speak at the event.
Organizers will also remember and honor civil rights activist and comedian Dick Gregory — a fearless and powerful voice for civil rights and for a just society.
Co-sponsors include Action Annapolis, We Persist – Women of Greater Anne Arundel, Anne Arundel Indivisible Coalition, and CAIR.
