(WASHINGTON, D.C., 7/4/2022) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned graffiti in neighborhoods of Birmingham, Ala., promoting the white supremacist group Patriot Front.
A large painted sign promoting the Patriot Front appeared this weekend under bridge and was visible from Interstate 65. Similar graffiti appeared in other areas.

In a statement, CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper said:
“Americans who value racial justice and equality must speak up each time racism rears its ugly head. As white supremacists and other bigots increasingly spread their hatred nationwide, community leaders must continue to repudiate racism.”
Hooper noted that just yesterday, Washington, D.C., based CAIR condemned a march Saturday in Boston, Mass., by some 100 members of the Patriot Front and similarly condemned white supremacist flyers distributed in Minnesota promoting the racist “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory.

He added that the American Muslim community and CAIR stand in solidarity with all those challenging anti-Asian hate, anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, white supremacy and all other forms of bigotry.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
