(SACRAMENTO, CA, 9/17/2010) — The Sacramento Valley chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-SV) condemned the hate graffiti on a mural of Sacramento Kings player Omri Casspi. This was the second time vandals defaced the mural with a swastika.

“We condemn such acts of hate against Omri Casspi,” said CAIR-SV Executive Director Basim Elkarra. “The Sacramento community has made it clear that an attack on a member of the Jewish community or another other community is an attack on us all.”
Sacramento community leaders have made a commitment to find more proactive ways to combat hate in one of the most diverse regions of the nation.
CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
