The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today reiterated its call for U.S. and international medical organizations to condemn the Gaza genocide after Israeli forces murdered Marwan al-Sultan, the director of the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza City, and his family.
Al-Sultan and his family were killed in an Israeli airstrike on an apartment building in Gaza City.

In a statement, CAIR National Deputy Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said:
“We strongly condemn the Israeli government’s assassination of Marwan Al-Sultan, the director of the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza, along his family. Medical organizations in the United States and across the world have a moral obligation to condemn the Israeli government’s genocide in Gaza, especially this systematic targeting of doctors, nurses and hospitals. Israeli forces are purposefully targeting medical staff and turn aid distribution zones into execution sites to make Gaza uninhabitable. Medical associations must end their silence.”
CAIR previously called on U.S. and international medical groups to speak out after a new report outlines the far-right Israeli government’s torture of Palestinian healthcare workers in Gaza.

Yesterday, CAIR condemned the Gaza “apocalypse” after Israeli forces committed a massacre at a child’s birthday party; doctors warned that thousands of babies now face starvation; the Al Shifa hospital announced a complete shutdown of dialysis treatment due to a fuel shortage, and at least 74 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces, many as they sought food at an aid concentration point.
