The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned Israel’s kidnapping of a top doctor in Gaza, the deadly bombing of a water plant and the latest massacre of intentionally-starved people desperately seeking for their families.
At least five people were killed when Israel bombed the water desalination plant in Gaza City.
Reuters reports that Israeli special forces kidnapped Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, who is in charge of Gaza field hospitals, killing one person during the abduction.
Israeli attacks across Gaza have murdered at least 34 people just today, including four people murdered while trying to obtain food for their starving families.
Israel has slaughtered more than 59,000 people in Gaza – and probably many more – mostly women and children. Many of the dead starved to death under Israel’s campaign of forced starvation.
In a statement, CAIR National Deputy Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said:
“By kidnapping one of the few remaining hospital directors in Gaza, bombing another water desalination plant, and massacring more starving Palestinian aid seekers, just days after bombing a Catholic church, the Israeli occupation makes clear that it has no sense of human decency, no respect for international law and no fear that the United States will stop its madness.
“President Trump could stop Netanyahu’s crimes with a phone call and his refusal to do so makes him complicit in the Gaza genocide, like President Biden before him. It is time for people of good faith around the world, from America to western capitals to the Arab Muslim nations surrounding Gaza, to raise their voices even louder before the Netanyahu regime is able to complete the final stage of its genocide.”
CAIR continues to call on Americans of all backgrounds to contact their elected officials and demand an end to U.S. support for Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza.
Last week, CAIR called for the immediate release of Palestinian Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, who was seized by Israeli forces in Gaza and now faces torture and abuse. Abu Safya is held in solitary confinement at the notorious Ofer military prison, which – like other Israeli detention centers – has a well-documented history of torture and abuse of detainees.
Yesterday, CAIR said that “history will long remember the Western world’s indifference to the forced starvation, ethnic cleansing and genocide in Gaza.”
Over the weekend, CAIR condemned what it called the world’s “normalization” of daily Israeli massacres after Israel again slaughtered at least 36 starving people seeking food at a U.S.-backed aid concentration site in Gaza.
Hundreds of starving people have been slaughtered and thousands more have been wounded while desperately trying to access food during Israel’s campaign of forced starvation in Gaza. Israel has slaughtered more than 58,000 people in Gaza – and possibly many more – mostly women and children.

Last week, CAIR called for a United Nations and International Criminal Courtwar crimes investigation of Israel’s alleged use of drones bombs packed with nails to target civilians in Gaza.
Also last week, CAIR said a deadly Israeli attack on the only Catholic church in Gaza shows “Israel’s brutal disregard for religious sites and the indiscriminate nature of its genocide.”
CAIR called on Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Attorney General Pam Bondi to launch a full U.S. investigation into the killing of Florida resident and U.S. citizen Sayfollah (“Saif”) Musallet, who was reportedly beaten to death on July 11 by a mob of illegal Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
