CAIR Condemns Latest Israeli Bombing of a Gaza Hospital

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the latest Israeli airstrike on a hospital in Gaza, this time targeting the Kuwaiti Field Hospital in Gaza, killing a medic and wounding nine other people.

The strike hit the Kuwaiti Field Hospital in the Muwasi area, where hundreds of thousands have sought shelter in sprawling tent camps. The wounded were all patients and medics, and two of the patients were in critical condition after the strike, said Saber Mohammed, a hospital spokesman.

This comes as the New York Times reports that autopsies of Gaza medics killed by Israel show some were shot in the head.

In a statement, CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper said:

“Once again, the genocidal Israeli government is targeting a hospital serving the civilian population of Gaza. It is evidently not enough to bomb Palestinians in their homes, displacement camps and schools. The Israeli military apparently also believes it must bomb civilians as they seek medical treatment for their wounds. The failure of our government and the international community to stop these horrors will never be forgotten.”

He noted that CAIR recently condemned Israel’s intentional attack on a Christian hospital in Gaza on Palm Sunday. CAIR also called on the Trump administration to condemn the attack.
