CAIR Condemns Targeting of Asian Restaurants in Maryland at the Start of the Lunar New Year

“It’s unacceptable that so many of our Asian neighbors and friends are fearful for their safety in their own homes because of the hate festering in our society,” said CAIR’s Director in Maryland Zainab Chaudry. “We stand in solidarity with AAPI communities and call for broader policy conversations focusing on safety and inclusivity. None of us are safe until all of us are safe.”

She noted that yesterday, CAIR’s New York chapter condemned the latest in a series of hate crimes targeting the Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities in that state.
