The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the latest Israeli massacre of Palestinian civilians, this time in the so-called “safe zone” of Rafah.
At least 11 people were killed when Israeli forces hit a tent in Rafah housing displaced Palestinians. That massacre comes as officials report that those who died in an Israeli massacre at a humanitarian aid convoy site were shot by Israeli forces and at least 10 Palestinian children have starved to death in the Israeli-imposed famine.

CAIR also condemned the alleged abuse of Palestinian women in Israeli custody. According to the Associated Press, the abuse included strip searches, beatings and humiliation.
“The soldiers were very harsh, they beat us and screamed at us in Hebrew,” said one detainee. “If we raised our heads or uttered any words, they beat us on the head…We were handcuffed, blindfolded, and our feet were tied in chains.”
In a statement, CAIR Deputy Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said:
“As the Biden administration drops insufficient amounts of aid on starving Palestinians in Gaza, those same starving Palestinians are bombed by American weapons that the Biden administration is rushing to the far-right, openly genocidal Israeli government.
“This makes no sense, and the Biden administration must stop this madness. President Biden can start by condemning the Netanyahu government’s latest indiscriminate bombing attack on civilians in a supposed safe zone.”
Yesterday, CAIR condemned Israeli government Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu’s call for the Islamic holy month of Ramadan to be “wiped out” and called on the Biden administration to condemn the remark.
CAIR previously called on the Biden administration to condemn the far-right Israeli government’s massacre of more than 100 starving Palestinians who were waiting for humanitarian relief when they were killed. This massacre pushed the death toll in Gaza to over 30,000.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
