CAIR Condemns Racist ‘N-Word’ Vandalism Targeting Maine School

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 1/4/2023) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned racist vandalism targeting a school in Maine. 

That racist “N-word” graffiti was painted on the outside of Albert S. Hall School in Waterville, Maine.

“We condemn this attempt to spread racist hate and urge school officials to educate students about the danger of such bigotry,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “Schools should be safe and welcoming learning environments for all students, regardless of race or ethnicity.”  

He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
