(WASHINGTON, D.C., 10/12/2022) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned vandalism targeting a synagogue in Racine, Wis.
Bricks were thrown at or through the windows of Racine’s Beth Israel Sinai synagogue. It was the second time in three years that the synagogue was targeted by vandals. It is not currently being investigated as a hate crime.

“We condemn this attack on a house of worship and stand in solidarity with the Wisconsin Jewish community,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “Given the rise in antisemitism nationwide, a possible bias motive should be investigated by law enforcement authorities.”
He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
