(Miami, FL – 3/25/2017) CAIR-Florida, the state’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today announced that they will be joining the One World Family Interfaith Prayer Gathering on March 26th. The family-oriented event will be held outdoors near the War Memorial Auditorium in Ft. Lauderdale. According to the event’s host, Reverend Joel S. Slotnick, on the event’s Facebook page, “This is a non-political gathering, free of sermons or political rhetoric. The goal of this event is to show our neighbors and the world that we can come together as people of faith, regardless of the religious discipline or how we express that faith, and pray as a community for the betterment of our society and our planet as a whole.”
“CAIR-Florida is joining the rest of our interfaith community in prayer to foster the necessary spiritual bonding that nurtures our solidarity in these difficult times,” said Wilfredo Amr Ruiz, CAIR-Florida’s Communications Director. These interfaith gatherings are extremely important and necessary.
