Multiple members of Musallet’s family will be present and available to speak to the media, joining CAIR-Florida in demanding justice and urgent U.S. government action.

Musallet, born in Florida and raised in Port Charlotte, was reportedly killed on Friday, July 11, by Israeli settlers allegedly supported by the Israeli government during an attack near Ramallah.

In a new statement, CAIR-Florida Executive Director Imam Abdullah Jaber said:

“We are heartbroken and outraged by the brutal killing of Sayfollah Musallet, a young American whose life was stolen in the occupied West Bank. This was not an isolated incident – it was part of a pattern of impunity. When American citizens are murdered abroad, especially by so-called allies, our government must respond. Justice delayed is justice denied. We call on President Trump and the U.S. Department of Justice to finally uphold the value of an American life, regardless of ethnicity or religion.”

The press conference will also renew calls on U.S. officials to investigate and prosecute those responsible under federal law, and to hold Israel accountable for repeated violations of international and human rights law.

CAIR-Florida previously condemned the killing, calling it part of a broader pattern of violence against Palestinian-Americans and other civilians by Israeli settlers and military forces. The organization has documented and condemned the killings of other U.S. citizens by Israeli forces, including journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, 80-year-old Omar Assad, peace activist Rachel Corrie, and others.
