CAIR-Houston Welcomes Dairy Queen Action Against Anti-Hindu Franchisee

CAIR logo(HOUSTON, TX, 3/28/16) – The Houston chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Houston) today welcomed action by Minnesota-based Dairy Queen against a Texas franchisee who posted a sign comparing Hindus to monkeys.

A spokesman for Dairy Queen said that company executives “do not condone this behavior†and that “a change of ownership is anticipated for this location.â€

“While everyone has the right to free speech – even bigoted speech such as displayed at this place of business – all Americans should reject religious intolerance, whatever its source and whichever faith is targeted,†said CAIR-Houston Staff Attorney Arsalan Safiullah.
