(Lawrence, KS, 6/14/16) â€“ On Wednesday, June 15, the Kansas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Kansas) will join the interfaith community of Lawrence, Kan., in a vigil to be held in solidarity with the victims and to condemn the horrific mass shooting at an Orlando nightclub that left close to 50 people dead and dozens more Âinjured.
â€œHorrific acts of violence like this have absolutely no justification,â€ said Moussa Elbayoumy, board chair of CAIR-Kansas. â€œThe Muslims of Kansas stand side by side with the rest of the faith community in solidarity with their fellow Americans in condemning the horrible mass shooting on Sunday.â€Â
Elbayoumy added: â€œOn behalf of the Muslims of Kansas, we express our profound shock, sorrow and condemnation of the murder of 49 innocent people and injuring of another 53 victims in Orlando. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences are with the families of the deceased and the injured, We, as American Muslims, condemn this act of mass murder in the strongest possible terms.â€
