CAIR-MI BANQUET A SUCCESS
Robert Fisk addresses historical shortcomings of U.S. foreign policy
(SOUTHFIELD, MI, 2/27/07) – The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) this past weekend held its sixth annual banquet in Dearborn, Michigan.
Some 1,100 people attended the sold-out banquet, including representatives of federal and state legislators, judges, religious scholars and interfaith leaders.
The keynote address was given by well-known British journalist and author Robert Fisk, who discussed the historical narrative of the failure of American and British foreign policy regarding the Middle East, Iraq, Iran and Palestine in particular, going back to the end of World War I.
