(ST. LOUIS, M0, 10/25/2019) – The Missouri chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Missouri) today announced that Mojda “Moji” Sidiqi has been named as the new executive director of the Muslim civil rights organization.
Sidiqi replaces outgoing director Faizan Syed, who recently became executive director of CAIR’s Dallas-Fort Worth chapter. Sidiqi previously served as CAIR-Missouri’s communications coordinator.
In a joint interview with St. Louis Public Radio, Syed said of Sidiqi: “She’s extremely loving and passionate when it comes to, not only civil rights for American Muslims, but really justice for all people. And she’s tough too.”

“I welcome this opportunity to serve the Muslim community in Missouri and to defend the civil rights of people of all faiths and backgrounds in our great state,” said Sidiqi. “As our nation is pushed toward increasing division and distrust, I hope to instead to promote unity and mutual understanding.”
CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
