CAIR-MN Condemns Neo-Nazi Vandalism of Lawmaker’s Home

The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned racist, neo-Nazi vandalism targeting the home of a state lawmaker.

The house, shed and political signage in the yard of Minnesota House Representative Kim Hicks (DFL-Rochester) was vandalized with Nazi swastikas, racial slurs, and Ku Klux Klan (KKK) signatures. The vandalism occurred early Saturday morning. Hicks, who is white, is married to a Black man.

“We condemn this clearly hate-motivated vandalism and stand in solidarity with all those targeted by bigotry in our state and nationwide,” said CAIR-MN Deputy Director Suleiman Adan.

He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
