The North Carolina office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NC), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the reported posting of flyers containing white supremacist and neo-Nazi imagery at a public park in Clayton, North Carolina.
According to local media reports, the flyers, featuring extremist symbols and messaging associated with neo-Nazi ideology, were posted in a community park.
CAIR-NC noted that this incident is part of a troubling pattern of increased hate-based propaganda targeting communities across the nation.
Earlier this year, CAIR similarly condemned the distribution of antisemitic and neo-Nazi propaganda in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In a statement, CAIR-NC Community Engagement Manager Al Rieder said:
“The promotion of neo-Nazi propaganda in any public space is deeply disturbing and must be unequivocally condemned. Such acts are intended to intimidate and marginalize vulnerable communities while normalizing hate. We urge community leaders, law enforcement, and residents to remain vigilant and to reject these messages of hate and division.”
The Muslim civil rights organization added that it and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
