(OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, 8/31/07) – The Oklahoma chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-OK) recently gave a presentation at the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA) conference.
Nearly 2000 people attended the conference, including members of Oklahoma’s school board and school superintendents. CAIR presented information and material about Islam and Muslims, offering school administrators materials to take to their respective schools.
CAIR works with educators to help them present accurate information about Islam and Muslims by offering various resources to schools including books and videos on Islam for school libraries, speakers, and cultural sensitivity workshops.
CAIR, America’s largest Muslim civil liberties group, has 33 offices, chapters and affiliates nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
