(PORTLAND, OR, 5/15/2018) – The Oregon chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Oregon) today called on Oregon’s congressional delegation to condemn Israel’s massacre of Palestinian civilians.
In a statement, CAIR-Oregon Board Chair Zakir Khan said:
“How many Palestinian civilians need to die before our elected officials speak out? 100? 1000? When will our politicians recognize the humanity of the Palestinian people? Just a few days ago, politicians from across Oregon gathered to support the Muslim community. Has that support eroded in under a week? We call on all Oregonians to join us in the streets today to protest the oppression being perpetrated by the Israeli military against the Palestinian people.”
