CAIR-Philadelphia Condemns Distribution of White Supremacist, Antisemitic Flyers in Luzerne and Delaware Counties

(PHILADELPHIA, PA, 6/21/2023) – The Philadelphia chapter of Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Philadelphia), a chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution recently of white supremacist flyers in Delaware County and also decried the distribution of antisemitic flyers in Luzerne County. Those flyers espoused racist messages promoting white power.

“Seeing such displays of hate in two distant parts of Pennsylvania is disheartening,” said CAIR-Philadelphia Executive Director Ahmet Tekelioglu. “We are raising our voice today to underscore that we will never stay silent in the face of bigotry and hatred. Our Muslim faith dictates working toward eradication of such hate.”

Tekelioğlu said CAIR and the American Muslim community has always stood against antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
