“Hospitals and other medical facilities in the D.C. area constantly need donations of blood to help them in their work,” said CAIR Outreach Coordinator Aseel Elborno, who organized the event. “We hope the blood drive at our office can help save lives and remind us of our Islamic responsibility to offer relief when we can.”
She reminded would-be donors that each blood donation can help save the lives of up to three people.
CAIR, America’s largest Islamic civil liberties group, has 35 offices and chapters nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
