(SANTA CLARA, CA, 10/21/2016) – On Saturday, October 22nd, the San Francisco Bay Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-SFBA) will host a Candidates' Forum in Pleasanton at the Muslim Community Center (MCC).
At the event, members of the local Muslim community will hear from candidates for Pleasanton and San Ramon City Council, Congress, and State Senate.

CAIR-SFBA is organizing this event as part of CAIR'sÂ Mobilize the Muslim VoteÂ initiative to increase civic engagement in the American Muslim community. This forum is the sixth and final of a series, which aims to better connect elected officials and candidates to their American Muslim constituents.Â

“Our plan is to host multiple candidates' forums around the Bay Area to provide an opportunity for constituents to ask questions and meet with the candidates who will serve their community,” saidÂ CAIR-SFBA Government Relations Coordinator Sameena Usman.Â “It is especially critical this year to get out the vote.”
This is the last of six candidates' forums scheduled by CAIR-SFBA.
CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
