CAIR Sponsors Virginia Get-Out-The-Vote Robocall to 8,000 Muslim Households

Muslim civil rights group to release exit poll of Muslim voters’ choice of VA and NJ governors

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 11/7/17) — The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, last night sponsored a get-out-the-vote (GOTV) robocall urging members of more than 8,000 registered Muslim voter households to go to the polls in today’s Virginia state general election.

Tonight, CAIR will sponsor a telephone exit poll survey to ask registered Virginia and New Jersey Muslim voters which gubernatorial candidate they supported. CAIR will release the results of that exit poll tomorrow.

Today’s election will determine many local county and city offices, in addition to the state’s governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and members of the Virginia House of Delegates

CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

La misión de CAIR es mejorar la comprensión del Islam, fomentar el diálogo, proteger las libertades civiles, capacitar a los musulmanes estadounidenses, y construir coaliciones que promuevan la justicia y la comprensión mutua.
