(Sacramento, 07/1/2015) – The Sacramento Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-SV) today expressed the Muslim community's solidarity with Fresno Christians following the possibly bias-motivated vandalism at Fresno Christian Schools.
Vandals caused extensive damage overnight by painting graffiti on an exterior wall of the gymnasium at Fresno Christian Schools.
CAIR-SV has asked that the incident be investigated as a possible hate crime since the vandalism included “profanity and lifestyle slurs” as stated by the Fresno Police.
“American Muslims stand in solidarity with the Christian community and condemn this hate-filled action against the Fresno Christian Schools,” said CAIR-SV Executive Director, Basim Elkarra.
CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
