(WASHINGTON, D.C., 3/18/19) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, called on all advertisers to withdraw their ads from Fox News after that network apparently pulled the “Justice With Judge Jeanine” program because of “scheduling matters” following the host’s rhetorical attack on a Muslim congresswoman.

Last week, CAIR’s New York chapter joined a coalition of groups at an event outside a meeting of Fox News advertisers in New York City to urge a boycott of the network until Jeanine Pirro and another Islamophobic Fox News host — Tucker Carlson — are fired.
The meeting with advertisers is reportedly designed to stem the flow of ad dollars from the network because of recent controversies involving the hosts.
“Fox News must clearly state that Jeanine Pirro will not be allowed back on the air after her long history of Islamophobic hate rhetoric and the network must also take similar action against other Islamophobic hosts like Tucker Carlson,” said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad. “All existing advertisers should drop their ads on Fox News to ensure that they are not associated with the promotion of hate.”
CAIR called for the firing of Pirro over her attack on Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) decision to wear an Islamic head scarf, or hijab. Fox News “strongly” condemned Pirro’s Islamophobic comments but took no further action against her.
The Washington-based civil rights organization called for Carlson’s firing after audio was uncovered of him making racist, white supremacist and Islamophobic statements.
