(MINNEAPOLIS, MN 4/26/2018) – Later today, the Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Minnesota Chapter, the State’s only Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, Jaylani Hussein, will attend the inauguration of the National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, Ala.
The facility is “the nation’s first memorial dedicated to the legacy of enslaved black people, people terrorized by lynching, African Americans humiliated by racial segregation and Jim Crow, and people of color burdened with contemporary presumptions of guilt and police violence.”
