(SAN DIEGO, CA, 12/14/15) – On Tuesday, December 15, 2015, a man who pleaded guilty to threatening the San Diego chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-San Diego) will appear in court for sentencing.
John David Weissinger, the 53-year-old suspect, was arrested, and let out on bail on charges of making a criminal threat and possessing, buying or selling an illegal large-capacity ammunition magazine. Â Weissinger was released on $50,000 bail, he pleaded guilty in his last hearing and is scheduled to appear in court this Tuesday for his sentencing.
Following the sentencing, CAIR-San Diego will hold an impromptu press conference in the hall outside of the Dep. 31. Â Representatives from CAIR, other community leaders, interfaith partners and supporters will be present to provide reactions.
