Stein has emerged as a candidate of choice for some Muslim and Arab American voters unhappy with President Joe Biden’s support for Israel in its invasion of Gaza. Her support is particularly potent in Michigan (home to a large Arab American population), Arizona and Wisconsin, Reuters reports, citing a poll from an advocacy organization, the Council on American-Islamic Relations. In Michigan, 40% of Muslim voters said they would vote for Stein, versus 18% for Trump and 12% for Harris, CAIR said.

CAIR blasted Israeli fighters for its “campaign of extermination, forced starvation and ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians

“Our government has the ability and legal duty to stop this genocide, regardless of President Biden’s remarkable indifference to human suffering and steadfast subservience to a genocidal foreign government,” Nihad Awad, the organization’s executive director, said in a statement.

Polling on the issue has yielded inconsistent results. Last week a national survey of Arab Americans, conducted by the Arab News Research and Studies Unit, found 43% supporting Trump compared with 41% for Harris, and 4% backing Stein, while a survey of Muslim Americans, by the Council on American-Islamic Relations of American Muslims, found that 42.3% plan to vote for Stein, 41% for Harris and 9.8% for Trump.
