(LAS VEGAS, NV, 10/8/2007) – Some 100 people turned out on Friday for an interfaith iftar (Ramadan fast-breaking meal) co-hosted by the Nevada chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NV) and the Muslim Student Association of the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).
“The month of Ramadan is a time for giving and outreach,” said CAIR-NV Executive Director Yasser Moten. “American Muslims need to extend the hand of friendship during this auspicious time.”
The evening’s program included a recitation from the Quran focusing on the importance of the month of Ramadan and a presentation on the fast.
