(WASHINGTON D.C., 9/27/2021) – The Colorado chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CO) today condemned racist flyers targeting businesses in Longmont, Colo.
On the morning of September 23rd, several business owners in Longmont discovered racist flyers left at their doorsteps. The flyers included the n-word and the statement “people if color [sic] are not worthy.” Longmont police were contacted, but no criminal investigation is underway. A spokesperson for the Boulder County District Attorney’s office said that while the incident was a “disgusting” and “deplorable act,” the flyers are protected free speech under the First Amendment.

Cole said the American Muslim community and CAIR stand in solidarity with all those challenging anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
