(WASHINGTON, D.C., 9/12/19) — The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned “white power” hate vandalism targeting property in Fort Smith, Ark.
“Racially-charged and insensitive” language — including “white power” and possible neo-Nazi “SS” symbols — was spray-painted on a vehicle and the tires were slashed. Other offensive and threatening (“die”) language was also sprayed at the site of the incident.

“We condemn this apparently bias-motivated vandalism and urge law enforcement authorities and public officials to take this act of intimidation seriously,” said CAIR National Communications Coordinator Ayan Ajeen. “The racism and white supremacy promoted at the highest levels of our society is increasingly having an impact on ordinary Americans.”
Ajeen said CAIR has reported an unprecedented spike in bigotry targeting American Muslims, immigrants and members of other minority groups since the election of Donald Trump as president.
