CAIR Condemns Distribution of White Supremacist Propaganda in Maine

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the reported distribution of white supremacist propaganda in Maine.

Easter eggs containing flyers with White Supremacist propaganda were discovered at a park in Bangor, Maine, on Easter Sunday.

Last week, CAIR similarly condemned the distribution of white supremacist propaganda in Joplin, Missouri, and a reported demonstration by a white supremacist neo-Nazi group, Aryan Freedom Network, in Marion, Iowa.

“The majority of Americans who seek mutual respect and national unity must speak out every time white supremacists and other bigots seek to promote division and hatred,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “Silence in the face of hate sends the false message to bigots that their hate-filled views are shared by others.”

He noted that CAIR has similarly condemned neo-Nazi and white supremacist activities nationwide.

Washington, D.C., based CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
