In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:

“The genocidal Israeli government targets journalists because it does not want the world to see what its horrific campaign of mass slaughter looks like. American and world media should end their silence and take a stand on behalf of their colleagues who are being assassinated in Gaza. Our government must immediately end its support for a state that kills journalists, starves entire populations, tortures detainees, and massacres men, women and children on a daily basis.”

He noted that CAIR has previously called on the American media to oppose Israeli targeting of journalists.
