CAIR Condemns Latest Israeli Massacre of Starving Palestinians Seeking Food for Their Families in Gaza

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the latest Israeli massacre of starving Palestinians who were seeking food for their families in Gaza.

Israel killed at least 12 people and wounded many others as they headed toward two aid concentration sites in Gaza operated by an Israeli and U.S.-backed group. That massacre came as another Palestinian child reportedly died of Israeli-imposed starvation and as 31 percent of children under the age of 2 are suffering from acute malnutrition.

In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:

“The almost daily massacres of starving Palestinian families desperately seeking food denied to them by the Israeli-imposed campaign of intentional starvation are crimes against humanity carried out with the complicity of our own government. This complicity, and the massacres of starving Palestinians, must come to an immediate end. Food and other humanitarian supplies must enter Gaza unimpeded, without Israel being allowed to use starvation as a weapon of war and a tool for ethnic cleansing.”

Last week, CAIR called on the Trump administration to shut down the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation after Israeli forces reportedly killed 27 starving Palestinians at an aid distribution site in Rafah.

Earlier this month, CAIR condemned so-called Israeli aid concentration sites in Gaza as really “killing zones” after Israel slaughtered least 31 people and wounded more than 150.

Israel has slaughtered more than 130 Palestinians seeking food and wounded some 1,000 others in the last two weeks and has murdered almost 55,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, in its genocide.
