The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned a march by the white supremacist group Patriot Front in Charleston, West Virginia.

Earlier this month, CAIR condemned the distribution of white supremacist Patriot Front material in Idaho.

“All Americans, whatever their background or faith, need to speak out whenever they see white supremacy, racism or any other form of bigotry being spread or promoted in public,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “

Hooper added that yesterday, CAIR urged federal law enforcement authorities to investigate an attack on a Mexican band in Oregon as a possible hate crime.

He noted that last week, CAIR condemned neo-Nazi vandalism at two Northern Virginia schools and CAIR’s Michigan chapter condemned racist and neo-Nazi messages on digital billboards in metro Detroit celebrating Adolf Hitler’s birthday.

CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
