(SEATTLE, WA, 12/9/2015) – The Washington state chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-WA) today called on law enforcement authorities to conduct a “thorough and transparent†investigation into the death for 16-year-old Hamza Warsame, a Muslim teenager who fell from a building on Saturday and later died of his injuries.
Family members say they have received very little information about his death from the Seattle Police Department and that the circumstances surrounding the incident seem suspicious and the family hopes to learn more about the investigation today.
“Because of speculation online about the circumstances of the boy’s death and the seriousness of a young person’s life being lost, we urge law enforcement authorities to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation so that the public can receive fact-based information,†said CAIR-WA Executive Director Arsalan
CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding. www.cair.com
