(Columbia, Md., 5/14/14) – The Md. Outreach Office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations today welcomed news that charges have been filed against the alleged perpetrators of anti-Semitic vandalism that occurred last month.
Two 16-year-old teens were arrested in connection with three acts of vandalism that occurred between April 18 and 21 in which Nazi swastikas and offensive language were painted on buses at Montgomery Child Care in Potomac, Md., on a synagogue sign at Young Israel of Potomac in Potomac, Md., and on the windshield of a vehicle in Rockville, Md. The youths were not tried as adults, but were charged with 16 counts each including hate crimes and malicious destruction of property. (Full statement)
