(WASHINGTON, D.C., 9/11/2023) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed a hate crime investigation by police into a racist, neo-Nazi vandalism targeting a museum in Brownington, Vt.
The Old Stone House Museum in Brownington was vandalized with Nazi swastikas and antisemitic graffiti. Police are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime.

“We thank law enforcement authorities for launching a hate crime investigation into this disturbing incident,” said CAIR National Communications Manager Ismail Allison. “No community should have its institutions desecrated with symbols of racist hate.”
He said that CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging white supremacy, antisemitism, anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and all other forms of bigotry.
