| WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT DENNIS PRAGER:
Anti-Defamation League: Prager’s comments are “intolerant, misinformed and downright un-American.” New York Sun: “Mr. Prager is not only wrong but his comments are so outrageous and, by our lights, almost unbelievably ignorant.” Rabbi David Saperstein, director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism said in a statement: “The criticism by Dennis Prager of Rep. Keith Ellison’s use of the Koran for taking the oath of office is irreconcilable with American law and ideals as well as Jewish values and interests.” American Jewish Committee issued a statement calling Prager’s remarks “disrespectful and unfortunate.” SOURCE: http://www.forward.com/ United States Holocaust Memorial Museum released this statement concerning Council member Prager. “Talk show host Dennis Prager speaks solely for himself. His statements do not reflect the position of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, whose board is not self-appointed.” Paul Campos: “Thus it’s noteworthy that Prager has just published a column so idiotic and immoral that it raises the question of whether the political movement of which he is a prominent representative has become fundamentally un-American.” Pioneer Press: “Prager argues that Ellison’s ceremonial swearing-in is the important part of the oath-taking and that using the Bible is an indispensable part. But if Ellison opts for the Quran in the symbolic photo-op, he will not be taking an oath to Islam. He will be using the scripture of his faith to add power to his commitment to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Former New York City Mayor Edward Koch: “There is no question that Dennis Prager is a bigot who ought to be repudiated even by his closest supporters,” Koch said this morning in an interview with the Forward. “His statements are a disgrace ”¦ and I will be down there calling for the council to condemn him, and, if we have the power, to remove him.” SOURCE: http://www.forward.com/
