Thursday's coalition press conference, scheduled to be held immediately before the convening of a legislative workgroup that will take public testimony from activists and victims of police misconduct, will provide specific measures to enact police reform and improve community relations.Â
The legislative workgroup was appointed by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan's administration in the aftermath of Freddie Gray's death. Gray died in Baltimore City earlier this year due to injuries sustained while in police custody.
Similar calls for police reform are being heard in other states.
