CAIR Condemns Distribution of Antisemitic, White Supremacist Material in N. Virginia

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution of antisemitic, white supremacist material to homes in Northern Virginia.

Residents of Broad Run, Virginia, reported to CAIR that weighted bags with a flyer attacking ‘Jewish terrorism,” stating “whites have rights too” and listing a phone number for “The Loyal White Knights” were thrown in front of their homes.

Yesterday, CAIR similarly condemned the distribution of antisemitic flyers in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

“This nationwide campaign to promote antisemitic, white supremacist propaganda must be repudiated by all Americans who value a diverse society based on justice and mutual respect,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “We urge local, state and federal officials to repudiate this hate campaign and to reject all forms of bigotry.”

Earlier this month, CAIR echoed a call by the NAACP for the adoption of a hate crime bill in South Carolina following the burning of a cross outside a Black couple’s home.

He noted that earlier this week, CAIR welcomed the arrest of a man who allegedly assaulted two people outside a synagogue in Washington, D.C.

Hooper said Washington, D.C., based CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
