The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the massacre of 14 rescue workers in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon.
Israeli forces bombed the main civil defense center in Baalbek, killing 14 rescue workers.

“The genocidal Israeli military is not satisfied with slaughtering civilians – they also slaughter the first responders seeking to protect those civilians,” said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad. “The Biden administration and the world community must condemn Israel’s ongoing slaughter throughout the Middle East and take concrete actions against its continuing war crimes.”
He noted that yesterday, CAIR welcomed a UN report confirming that Israel’s actions in Gaza are consistent with the characteristics of genocide.
