(WASHINGTON D.C., 1/28/2022) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today reiterated its support for efforts to rename a northern Virginia street currently named a Confederate general who raised funds for the KKK.
The Vienna Town Council agreed to hold a public hearing on February 7th to discuss renaming Hampton Wade Drive, a street named for a Confederate general who worked against reconstruction and provided funding to the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).
